a mandatory program for a parent of all leaside hockey players
What is the program?
Hockey Canada, the OHF and the GTHL require that at least one parent/guardian of all registered players must complete the online Respect in Sport Parent Program before the start of any on ice activity (this includes the Select tryout process). No player may take part in Select tryouts or house league programs until one parent has completed the program. The Respect In Sport Parent Program can be accessed here.
WHAT IS THE FEE? WHEN TO I HAVE TO RENEW?
The fee is $12.00 plus HST. Note that this course only needs to be taken once; there is no expiry.
HOW WILL THE LHA KNOW THAT I HAVE TAKEN THE COURSE?
This is a Hockey Canada program. Once a parent completes the RIS training, they will be able to enter their child’s name and birthdate and connect the child to the “HL-Leaside Hockey Association” for both House League and Select players (NB: please do NOT associate your child with “Leaside Flames”). If a parent has already taken the Parent Respect in Sport program, they can log into the link above and add their child to their profile.
